The Anti-War Banner is Done!
Thank You For Coming Out and Helping
Saturday, March 31 Noon - 1:30 pm
Saturday March 31, 12 Noon to 1:30 PM
Bloomfield Avenue and Fullerton in Montclair
Over
the past two months hundreds of people have worked together to
create a giant 3,000-foot anti-war banner. On the banner are the
handwritten names of over 3200 US servicemen and women who have died
in Iraq along with about 1200 names of Iraqi civilians who have
died.
Tomorrow, Saturday, March 31,at 12 Noon, the
banner is going up along Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair. It will
stretch from Grove Street to Valley Road. But we need your help to
make it happen
Please
come to the corner of Bloomfield Avenue and Fullerton in Montclair
at 12 Noon. You will be assigned a spot and a piece of the banner to
hold. At approximately 12:30 we will unfurl the banner. A group of
live drummers spaced along the avenue will play as the banner is
opened. You will have a list of the names on your section of the
banner and if you choose, you will read the names aloud.
We will keep the banner up until 1:30 PM and
then assemble for a brief rally.
Please make
every effort to be there.
